Let us begin with the obvious.
This is not communication:

However, this is not communication either:

Okay okay and maybe you’ve been inundated with ads for that news site that scans the news and puts all the news together and somehow accounts for bias and what not. And if you’re a real sucker you’ve bought into it. Or maybe you’re a podcast listener. An NPR person. A catholic radio enjoyer. Maybe you watch TV or stream movies or shows. Reality or otherwise.
Hell, this wannabe Wes Anderson (highly recommend channel: Build Thing With Hand) isn’t communication.

What I’m saying is that news, and all media for that fact, is not communication. It is announcement, entertainment, information even, but not communication.
You may learn form it, change your opinions from it, enjoy it whatever but it is not communication. This site isn’t communication. And I think we’ve forgotten that. Without exchange, without back and forth, without a product, there is no communication between you and the media. It is just injection. Ingestion.
Talking, letter writing, instant messaging, phone calls, that sort of human on human interaction is genuine communication. There are slips in the matrix that come close: forums, maybe live streaming, but be careful.
I believe the internet’s initial revolution was the ability to communicate with the world from your home. However, I have come to think its been hijacked away from communication. To humanities deficit.
There is no point here. Just keep in mind, the distinction. None of this communi(ty)cation.
