You, intentionally or not, minimize your day to day exposure to air. You wake in your enclosure, ready yourself, and minimize your exposure to the world between the door and your car. Then do the same from car to work. I understand we live in a time optimization hell world, but there are ways to get more fresh air. Aside from the increased risk from fumes and brake dust and whatever, look, you already live in a city and drive the roads. Alls I’m saying is, I look around on my commute and maybe 1 in 100 people have their windshield cracked, let alone down. Its free air. Free weather. You get to have it blow in your face, the cool morning air. The hot afternoon petrochemically enables breeze. Oh, you need carefully engineered temperature conditions at all times? What is wrong with you. You can get at least a 2 square foot OPEN window to the ambient environment. Air, the outside air. The genuine temperature!
Notbable drawbacks:
– Harder to listen to podcast/audio books with the added noise. However, music still viable option.
– Maybe highway wind noise is significant enough to be troublesome.
– Might mess up your immaculate hair, and therefore your entire self image.
– As a courtesy at stop lights I do the extra work of turning the music volume down. Y’know, being neighborly.
– Might have to roll them up if your car is a disgusting cess pit of litterable garbage.
– Might have to roll ’em up to talk to the phone.
– Might have to roll ’em up, y’know dynamically. What if theres a median begger or something? But I doubt you have the crank window, cry baby.
